Fall 2012

Cason wanted to be Spiderman and Kiley Olivia the pig, I found a spidergirl dress for $3 at a consignment sale and talked her into it. Can't see in pictures but red dress has black spider webs all over. Was first year they were both very into it, despite Kiley being sick. We trick or treated through the whole neighborhood for  almost 2 hours, and came home with enough candy to make the dentist sick! We pushed the Bob stroller up and down the hills, and had to force them to take a ride!  Several scary houses in the neighborhood held them back, watched as Paul walked them up to one and he ended up screaming at smoke machine suddenly went off to loud music. I got a good laugh from the curb!

Kiley not so sure about this house, will hold back and make Cason check it out first!

Party at school including costume parade

Got to wear costumes to dance that week, picked princess costume instead of spidergirl!
Trunk or Treat at church Sunday night, our good friends dressed up as same thing!

Helping make cookies for school party
Visiting cousins in Nashville, very cold weekend for outdoor soccer games and Halloween bone fire party!
Pumpkin Patch at Old Baker Farm, great time as usual with tractor rides, cotton maze, hay maze and climbing, petting zoo, corn maze, and the horse/trailer ride out to pick our own pumpkins!  Kiley fell in mud puddle in hay maze, went inside and asked an older gentlemen if he knew where the bathroom was, he replied "I'm Mr. Baker, I think I can show you the way."

Looking at the pictures...what was I thinking putting the girl in white tights for the pumpkin farm?!?
Both had strong opinions on which pumpkins they wanted, imagine that!
Kids played soccer this fall, 6 week program that taught basic skills only with a little "game" the last day. Let's just say we hope they have musical talent!
Their little team,Andrew and Morgan. They were all terrible!  Got scored on at least 8 times before the coach started playing with them. Spinning around, running to hug parents, looking to see what the team next to them was doing, giggling, picking the weeds, ect...all seemed much more fun than actually kicking the ball! Still so cute watching them do the jumping jacks, stretching, drills and hopefully they learned a few skills!

 Good thing everyone gets trophy's

All Kiley and Morgan wanted to do was run the track and chase each other. No interest in soccer what so ever!

                                                                      Happy Fall Ya'll!!

4th of July 2012

We had lots of fun activities again this 4th; friends over to grill out Sat night then headed to Helena festival in the park with fireworks and bands.  First year kids were not scared. Sunday afternoon dad and Paul took the kids to the firework stand and loaded up!  Tuesday evening we headed to the Vestavia festival we have taken them to every year with lots of free give aways, jump houses, cotton candy, local marching  band, ect. then caught the Barans fireworks at the Met on the way home, which were surprisingly very good.  Wednesday we all slept in then packed up for the Mizerany lake house and spent most of the day in the lake, it was very hot!  First time kids jumped off dock, then wouldn't stop. It was a very relaxing day, the kids had a ball.  We headed to parents for hamburger cookout and fireworks.  The house was still silent at 8:45 this am!  Great times and great memories!

4 yr old check-up

The kids had their 4 yr old check-up; Cason is 36 lbs and Kiley 34 lbs, Cason is 1/2 in taller.  Got a great check-up and Dr. Dudgeon said "you guys have such awesome kids, very few kids at this age will run up and hug you, they are special"  We agree!  He recommended keeping them together in preschool and separating in kindergarten.  They each got 4 shots and had to bring in 3 people to hold poor Cason down. I got tears as usual when Kiley said "mommy please help me, mommy" as tears rolled down her cheeks.  Took them to the library and chick flia for lunch as a treat.  Pretty sure no kid deserves shots during the summer, just doesn't seem right!

Summer Beach Trip

We had such a great beach vacation in Sandestin.  One of my pts let us borrow her golf cart to drive around for the week which was awesome.  The kids loved it and we did not get in the car once the whole week. They were better on the beach this year but still preferred the pool, asked every morning if we had to go to the beach. Really?  Are these my kids??  They have just started to learn to swim and really enjoying the water. Cason still not a big fan of the sand but liked jumping in the waves much more and going for walks on the beach.  Kiley like bathing her mermaids in the ocean and finding other little girls to play with.

Other highlights include Cason learning to swim under water, watching him swim with his goggles, swimming at the hotel pools, golf cart rides, dancing at Baytown, Cason, Kiley, Nana all sleeping in the same room, getting into the Beach Club, kids playing with Lucy at the pool party, not needing life jackets anymore, great dinners with friends, playground/treehouse, treasure hunt and Cason putting all eggs back since they didn't have candy in them, Matar car display scaring Kiley, endless giggles and smiles!
